Topography of the Western United States

Regular price $100.00

India ink on Bristol paper, 11x14" (frame not included)

This drawing shows the topography of the western United States. More specifically, the area between 31°N - 49°N and 100°W - 125°W. The topography is shown in a unique way. Horizontal swaths of a full degree of latitude are analyzed and each set shows 5 lines for the 0th, 25th, 50th, 75th, and 100th percentile altitude at each longitude along the X axis. This allows the viewer to perceive the distribution of altitudes within the swath.

I personally fulfill these orders on demand with an AxiDraw V3/A3 pen plotter. It takes about an hour to draw with a Koh-I-Noor Rapidograph technical pen on Strathmore Smooth Bristol paper. I number and initial each drawing by hand.
