Topographic Maps of Mars

Regular price $150.00

India ink on Bristol paper, 18x24" (frame not included)

These large plotter drawings show the topography of various regions of Mars.

The data for these drawings comes from the HiRISE (High Resolution Imaging Science Experiment) program. This is a camera on board the Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter, which has been in orbit around Mars since 2006. The camera takes images of the surface multiple times from different angles to form stereo pairs, from which DTMs (Digital Terrain Models) can be created.

I generate these drawings using custom code written in Go and Python.

Contact me if you're interested in a specific DTM!
